regarding spec clutches, I can only comment on the one that I bought but it's a stage 2 10.5" cluch and steel flywheel. These were specificially recommended to me by spec. I received them and they look like they are very well built. I'll give comment on the feel once they get installed later this week.

fallstar- is that what you have? you like it? hows the clamping force? i know the pedal effort is suposedly 10% less than stock so thats not a problem
A friend of mine got it. I drove his car and I definitly felt an improvement. That combo worked out really well.

I have a king cobra clutch kit sitting in my room!

Putting it in in a few weeks along with some syncrhos.

What did you all do with your flywheels when you did your clutches? Replace or resurface? I'm gonna have mine resurfaced in my 97 GT.

Once I get it in I will report back with my opinions.

well it turns out borg warner doesnt even make clutches anymore, idk when my uncle thought that they did but im going to order the king cobra kit along with arp pressure plate and flywheel bolts and a bushing or something from the dealership. me and my uncle are going to put in on ourselves when it comes in. im kinda excited that ill get to do this and learn but im also excited that i might be able to get an MGW shifter afterwards

anything special i need to know when replacing it? the flywheel will be resurfaced

i heard someone say something about mcleod but they r expensive. im just gonna use the King Cobra and hopefully have enough dough afterwards for a short throw. then tires, springs, and a midpipe and ill be happy if i get all that by the time i graduate at the end of may.

damn those clutch cables are expensive. is there a reason that i would really need to replace it other than if the one i have is frayed and worn? MM says a firewall adjuster is required to use there quadrant is this right?

MM quadrant and firewall adjuster is $67
add the MM OEM cable and it jumps to $121

at jegs i can get the King Cobra Kit and the ARP flywheel and Pressure plate bolts for 208+s/h then add the MM stuff+s/h and say goodbye to rest of my tax return....
