Default What is the next step?

I want to keep building out the motor. I have CAI, Accufab tb/plemun, magnaflow x, magnaflow cat back, and a SCT chip with 4.10 gears. The car is an 03 GT. What is the next step to give me the largest hp gains (without nitrous or s/c). Should I go with new cams or get some work done on the heads? I would like to eventually get to 300 rwhp n/a. Thanks for any info.

PnP Heads, maybe some forged internals with a bumped c/r? Mach1's have 10.1:1 and they're a (primarily) n/a car.... if you don't plan on power adders ever you might want to go even higher, just remember it will increase you're fuel requirement to 91+ octane :-p

If your looking to make 300rwhp it will take some work. You have gotten a good start thus far, but 300whp is going to be costly. I would reccomend a set of long tube headers and a set of cams. Your probably around 245whp right now how you stand. the cams and long tubes will get you closer to 270whp.

My reccomendation is to not worry about 300whp, do the cams and long tubes. Then work on your suspesion and get a set of slick to get your 60's down.

Underdrive pulleys should be worth some cheap power.

After that, get long tubes, any brand should do.

Finally, do head porting, cams, and valve springs all at once when you've got the cash.

Finish it up with a bullitt or ported bullitt intake.

I have done some looking at prices. Cams will run between 500 to 600. What should I expect for install cost? Are VT stage 1 the way to go or should I get something more aggresive?

If you want to make that 300 mark, you are going to want a more aggressive cam.

yeah get like a vt stage 2 cam and port and polish work done on your heads and intake. that, longtube headers and obviously a retune after the heads and cam and your set. this is eventually what i hope to end up with
