wow meebix is really passionate about the stick lol. Girls also like cute cars like a celica does that mean you should own one? Girls also like winners, and in a straight line the auto takes it. Around a track though, the manual takes it. Up to you really. How cool is it to sit in traffic with a manual? Plus auto allows me to fool around with a girl while driving.

If you're the one who is having to do the fooling, then something is wrong.. I can get plenty while I am driving my 5spd

+1

a regular automatic is not that much faster than a regular driver and even with some upgrades is still slower than a good driver. Now once you get enough power that you have to swap trannies and you slap in the trans brake, yeah auto all the way. But a 5 speed is way more fun and gives you better control off a car. However to each their own

well are you a pro driver who got the times they did? Did not think so lol. Anyway on the whole girl thing, you should not have to impress her by your transmission or else you must be ugly or have no game.

4th gear is a hard one to hit ?

All you have to do is go straight down. 3rd can be the tough one, that's why so many shifters come with a "spring-loaded" 2nd gear. It's that dogleg maneuver that screws with people.

I'm not even going to mention 5th, it's the worst by far. But of course...there is no need to race in 5th anyway. At least not with my pansy *** car

Why does it always turn into a "Auto vs. 5spd" thing.. Maybe he just wants a manual for the fun factor.. Nowhere did he ask or say that it was better. But back the original poster, look for a 5spd car instead of trying to change it over.
Haha, so true, it always turns into a competiton, So I will keep the dice rolling....

5-Speed runs ****, hands down.

Auto is only good for drags and 1/4, thats it.

Sticks are more fun, better for a street track, better for the chicks.... They are just better.
And Im sorry, but if Im driving an American Muscle Car, let alone ANY sports car... It HAS to be a stick. It should be illegal to make a sports car an auto.. bah.
Isnt that all Mustang GTs in general are good for?

I don't understand.

I thought he was talking about racing, and working up through the gears. And was saying that grabbing 4th was hard in the process.

Did I miss something ?
