1.) if you keep it and do a tranny switch...you might as well try for a 6 speed instead of a 5 speed. selling it would be the easiest, and my vote is with manual.

2.) i have a manual and i agree that it is more fun. it is also much more difficult with girls from my experiences. agreed, 4th gear is rough.

Thanks for all the answers! I know that with mods the auto will have better shifting through gears and can have a quicker jump off the line only thing is I really like 5 speeds. Nice thought about the 6speed. when I get a stick maybe I will add a 6speed tranny to that. So my next question is does anyone want to buy a 2001 mustang GT with 25k on it?? Its an auto!

What is the price. I'm happy with my car just curious about the steal of a deal. Switching from auto to manual will just cost ALOT of money you will never be able to get back.

Although lots of input was offered as to whether he should go 5 speed or not, no one answered his question in ref to what would be needed. As far as I know you would need a T-45 or T-3650, Bellhousing, 5 speed computer (debatable on other sites), 5 speed tranny wiring harness, clutch, flywheel, shift cable, etc. (Feel free to add more items).

I have an auto which I daily entertain the thought of swapping out the tranny. However when I sit in traffic daily between 45 minutes to an hour and a half here in Hampton Roads, I am thankful for an automatic. Now when I get to El Paso, Texas this summer, hopefully this will be a different story. Border patrol here I come!
