I have a 96 gt and am planning on getting a turbo setup over the summer. My question is how much boost can my car handle safely? Is there anything I can do to bring up the amount of boost easily? Any info would really help thx.

everything I have read on the stock NPI GT's basicaly says stay below 8PSI if you want it to last very long. You could get so much more out of it if you forged the bottom end first. For the cost of a TT setup you could forge the bottom end and get a vortech slapped on. Honestly on a tubo setup I wouldnt mess with it without forged pistons/rods/crank, better heads, and suspension upgrades... There is sooo much potential in a turbo setup for major HP that it would be a shame to have to tone it down to the bare minimum it could push.
Are you planning a TT or single turbo setup? Are you looking at a kit or are you going to try to create your own with a pair of matched used turbo's?

Yeah I was planning on a tt kit that I found on http://www.turbochargedpower.com/96-04%20Mustang.htm and eventually I want to get the crate motor on there as well. It's able to handle 30 psi boost. I am hoping to make some good doe working in Desitn as a waiter this summer and was trying to think of the best way to spend it

9PSI is fine on 91 gas and a good tune

it's all in the tune but 10psi should be fine. i am all for turbos...but i have to agree with Hav on this one. if you are buying a kit (not building it) it is so expensive that i see it as a waste vs a sc on a stock motor... but it is your money
