Default What am I going to need for gear install?

Do I need anything other than the basic install kit for when I get my gears installed? I have an 01GT with 50k miles? Do I just need the basic install kit or do I need bearings/carrier bearings? Anybody know?

Don't forget you will have to recalibrate your speedo after the gear change. You'll need to do it electronically with your year. Good idea to also get quality gear oil such as 3 quarts of Royal Purple 75w-90. Really good stuff. As far a bearings are concerned, I'd leave it up to your install guy to make the determination. Every parts store and Ford dealer on the planet probably has them in stock should it look as though you need them. Price will be very similar regardless where you get them. If you had 75,000+ on the car I would definitely say yes, why not? Only other reason would be if you drive your car really hard or it has had a steady dose of the drag strip. Then mileage means nothing.

Do it once, Do it right.. You don't want any problems after it's been installed. If you can prevent it from happening, why not buy the kit?
Also, a tuner, or if you have a 5spd a speedcal, will be needed to correct for the swap.
