Well if its anything like the shift kits for dsm's its going to be a pain in the @55. Pretty much all the kit comes with is different springs, and **** like that. It will help your tranny operate my efficiently, and shift quicker. Its more for biulding your tranny up rather than taking 1/4 times down.

you'll love it! Get a high tranny cooler while you are at it. You can get one off of Summit for about 60 bucks. Increase the life and efficiency of your tranny. DO IT!

no its not nessicary, but it will help with the biulding up of your tranny. Get the shift kit, tranny cooler, torque converter, and new gears... and you'll start slaying 5speeds.

It's not necessary with just the shift kit, but recommended. If you do get a high stall converter, then the tranny cooler is a must. I'll be installing all 3 shortly. I'm getting a 2800 stall, it should kickass with my 3.73's

it really depends on your definition of "necessary". if you're gonna do it right, get the cooler. heat is the enemy of transmission fluid, it stops performing well when it gets hot.

I bought a transgo a few weeks ago and I'm just ready to put it in this coming weekend. What about the tranny-cooler? Does it go in front of the cooler or where does it mount?

mine was mounted in front so that the air is cycled first through the cooler, than the radiator...i dont know if it makes that much of a difference though
