How to break into the 13's
I bought my 2002 GT not too long ago and I am wondering what kind of mods and how much $$ it would take to break in to the 13's. The only upgrades I have done so far are a Steeda Shifter and a K & N SRI.

RE: How to break into the 13's
$400-$600 - Gears + Install
$250-$300 - Drag Radials
$139-$200 - Control Arms
$390-$400 - Tuner if you plan on gears. <-- if your automatic it will firm up shifts help you out alot. If your 5spd it will still help you out just not as much.

RE: How to break into the 13's
Getting into the 13-second range with a 5 speed is primarily a matter of technique. The first time I ran my car in the quarter I was running high 14.50's to mid 14.40's on a hot, humid night while spinning badly. I went to that same track the next spring and in low humidity, 68 degree weather ran in the 14.20's. Pissed off, I tried making a run with the traction control on and BLAM! I turned a 13.98 at 99.59mph! Ifollowed this up with a 14.12...
All of these runs were made on a stock 01 Bullitt, which only makes about 10hp more than a stock GT. The point I'm trying to make is that you can often gain several tenths by simply working on your launch, shift points, etc. and by running in good weather. One pass in on a dry, 40 degree day and you should be just fine (and don't forget to ice down that intake!)...
