Default EXHAUST QUESTION

Alright, so im coming down to a final decision on exhaust. I think im going to go with a catted h pipe with magnaflows. Im not too concerned with the performance as I am with sound. I dont want a loud, rappy sount when im on it, as well as popping and crackling when im off the gas. I just want a good sound, not noise. Will this combo give me the sound im looking for?

have you thought about going with high flow cats and the magnaflow? will help exhaust flow and the sound will not be extra loud.

Ya thats not the most free-flowing exhaust, it will not sound a whole lot louder than stock. Try the magnaflows with an o/r h pipe.

Well I live on Ohio and have emissions, which really sucks. Right now the car has a custom exhaust. Its got pipes from the exhaust manifolds directly to the mufflers, which are Thrush and sound pretty bad ***. Its deep and not too loud, but people turn their heads when I get on it. The problem is that it will never pass emissions. Thats the way I bought it. So I want to go with a set up that will pass emissions, but not be overwhelmingly loud either. I want low tone at cruising speed, I drive about 600 miles a week and dont want it too loud, but I want it to kinda come alive whit I jump on it. Im expecting about the same loudness I have now, but with a nice deep tone, but just able to pass emissions.

The previous owner put flows and a catted h pipe on my 03 gt, it sounds good when you GET ON IT. I think this combo would be good for what your looking for. For me, it's just not enough, it sounds like every other stang on the road.

that will work well, if you wanted quiet until you get on it, but Sonic is right, it does sound almost like stock. if you are worried about emissions and have the room, keep a stock pipe with the cats attached. that is what i do and when it is time for inspection, just change the pipes. everything is bolt on and takes about 30 minutes to change. just a thought.

If I added longtubes, would this make it any louder at cruising speed?, not rediculous but noticeable?

Do you think it would be worth about 500 bucks and 8+ hours with the K member removerd trying to finagle them into the engine compartment, let alone try to get them to seal>
