S/C or PI Swap?? I can't decide!!

Ok i'm getting a bit frusterated now. I can't decide. S/C or PI swap. The PI package i'm looking at will cost me about $1,400 and that's if I do it myself. Do those packages come with step by step manuals? I'm looking at getting it from SteenRacing.com I figure if I just S/C it'll cost me about $1,100 more ($2,500) to do and it'll be a lot easier to "bolt on". What do you guys think? I guess what's discouraging me is which is honestly more worth it POUND FOR POUND?

What kind of numbers are you looking for?

RE: S/C or PI Swap?? I can't decide!!

5.3
13.5-13.8
285-305 FWHP

WITH the PI swap of course i'd add a tune, 4.10s, UDP, and probably Nittos. How much hp will a PI swap add anyway? I was under the impression 35hp but i've read people saying 60/up to 60.

It will add close to 35 but maybe a little more due to the fact that you will have higher compression than the stock PI mustangs. The 99-04GTs has 9.1 and with the PI swap on an sn95 you will have about 10.5.10 I believe. Gains of about 60hp wouldnt be unreasonable if you got your heads p&ped before the install.

Get the pi swap, then save up for the super.

Well I was looking last night and realized this:

PI Swap: Harder to install, costs about $1,300-1,400 for parts and doing it yourself. Adds about 35hp
Full Bolt Ons: Much eaiser to install, costs about $1,300 for all of them, will add about 49-62hp

The bolt ons are tempting me.....

CAI, 75mm TB, UDP, Diablo Predator, SLP LM 1s.

I think 49-62 is generous of a #. I was in the same position, the problem witht he NPI motors is they cant breathe. I would PI swap before s/c. Unless you wanna be making embarassing #s for an s/ced car? The best option is p&ping your stock heads, keeps the same compression and then s/cing it. The PI heads compression ratio means you wont get as good results from the super.

PI swap with ported heads and a mild cam will net you some niiiice gains ;)

that seems like an incredibly low cost for a s/c kit.
