Default Help, Question about super cheap ebay chip/resistor mod

Hi guys, I am sure you've all seen the "20+ Hp chip" mod on ebay thats like 5.00, Anyone know what exactly the ohms of this resistor are and exactly where your supposed to plug it in, I figure why not just go to radio shack and buy the resistor and give it a try, I guess it cant hurt, and if anyone has done this could you post a pic of it installed so I get a better idea of where it goes. I am pretty broke right now and looking for all the super cheap and free mods I can find. Oh, and I bought the blue xenon bulbs for like .99 off ebay, they actually work great, now I need to replace the fog light bulbs cause they look so dim and yellowish compared to the headlights, I'll post a pic of them tommorrow. any help with the resistor is appreciated, thanks in advance, Mike

Has anyone actually tried this, are you sure it does nothing? I know it sounds like it won't do a thing, but if I go to radio shack and get a $.25 cent resistor and it does even a little, it'd be cool

OK, I read some of these guys feedback, a lot of people seem to think it works, but I am all set wasting my money on ebay, anyone know what type of resistor it is and exactly where it installs, apearantly it tricks your Intake air temp sensor into thinking it is cold out and richens up the air/fuel ratio a bit and they claim it advances the timing a degree or two also, I know it probably don't work, but if I can find out what resistor it is and where to put it, it's worth trying for less than a buck, right?

There are no mods for free or cheap that will do anything for you. You gotta pay to play man... And if you are certain it can't hurt, then go ahead and try it...
