I worked in a repair facility for 2 years and have worked in a auto parts store for 5 years now and sell up to full syn about 65% of the time and maybe 3 have come back and had a leak problem. its going to leak no matter how fast or slow you switch to it. Thats just how it works it is either going to or its not

whats was the mileage on your car when you switched? see i couldnt afford to be 1 of those 3 but id really like to run synthetic to make my engine cleaner and last longer. if i dont ill just use Mobil clean high mileage

I went from regular oil, to motorcraft synthetic blend, then to full synthetic.

my 4.6 had 125000 miles when i changed to it. my 79 bronco had close to 80000 and my last car a 98 escort had over 135000
So like i said it either going to leak or not

switching to a synthetic blend does nothing. every motor that ive seen blow up was on synthetic oil after running regular oil its whole life. unless synthetic oil is put in from the dealer its just gonna do a high mileage car harm

My wifes car is a 97 sable with the duratech had 89000 on it when i switched to full syn and it now has 128000 regular changes every 6000 miles and does not leak or burn excess oil at all. might be a 1/4 quart low. lots of stop go miles with out time for the engine to even get a true heat cycle. the oil doesnt break down but gains moisture. so like i said i stand by it gained 2 mpg and never looked back

you could run a syn blend for this change and then swap to full syn
theres a good idea

you see, when you run fossil oil in a car for that long, the engine seals get used to it. Switching directly to synthetic, a thinner oil (even tho it may be the same weight) gets into cracks better and is overall way better for your engine, prolonging tis life greatly, you might see minor leaking at first through the seals. I suggest going with a blended oil first, then switching to full synthetic next time.

even better smokes the tires easier than the mustang, its not really stock anymore either. it has full flowmaster duals on it custom cold air intake through the fender well. intake maf had been p&p. I work at an auto parts store like i said earlier and have axcess to a machine shop so all my cars get special treatment. that thing stock has 200 ponies almost as much as the gt.

say my engine does leak from the synthetic, will the synthetic recondition the seals and will the leaking stop?
well mobils mobil clean 5000 is fossil, the 7500 is synth blend, and extended performance (15000) is full synth.
i could run the 7500 for the six months cause there's no way ill do 7500 first, then the full synth EP.
