Default 99GT Auto Vert Problem.

Greetings to all..

My girlfriends mustang has an odd problem. It is random, but always noticeable when it happens.

Start the car and let it idle for a bit to warm up. Drop it into any gear and sometimes, the car will lurch forward or backwards (depending on the gear). It will rev up just a bit, and then jump with out hitting the gas. As a matter of fact, if you do not have your foot firmly planted on the brake, you will lurch about 8 feet.

At first I was thinking it would be something like an Idle air control valve, but now I am just confused. Any thoughts?

Much appreciation,

IAC, check the throttle to make sure it isn't getting stuck open at all...

If none of that is the culprit, sounds like it could have something to do with the tranny.
