very easy work. take your car, a cashiers check for $15K and bring it to my friend at fatal performance. they have a TT 2v stang doing 9.93 @ 133mph
SOunds like an easy solution, however I just think its so much cooler to actually take part in building your car. and 2000GT I am looking for some 0 down loans

this will mae your car a turn key rac car. a 9.93 race car! Code3GT spent 15K on his car and he is only pulling 12.40's

I think you are mistaken for the 03/04 forged bottom end.

The header setup for the Turbo's will be rather expensive and it will take a lot of work to make those turbo's fit. Do you know how much work is going to be needed for a TT setup?
nope hes correct. the 96-98 cobra blocks are the strongest
I don't know why I looked into his post more than I should have. For whatever reason I just assumed he was mistaking it for the 03/04 Cobra shortblock. [&:]

Code posted earlier he is getting a new tire combo and going for 11s N/A !!

I doubt he will run 9s with the juice flowing, but I would think 10s arn't out of the question.

BTW, no way the car is running 9s with only 15K invested since they rolled it off the lot. If it is, there isn't an interior and its not street legal. (aka it wieghs about 2700 pounds).

Hell, I have 1200 in my exhaust and 4k in the transmission!! 15K gets burned thru pretty quick adding the support hardware to run 9s.

thats a hell of a price if it includes suspension, brakes, transmission, engine upgrades, F/I, clutch. I'm guessing right around 15-20k with zero mechanics fees. Everything except a final tune will be done at home under supervision from a professional. I'll keep fatal in mind though, I'd just need to save up a little longer as I was planning on upgrading over 2-3 years. Strating with brakes and suspension, then moving on the forged long block and better trans., then finally the tt.

actually looking over my parts list looks more like 20,000+. But back to my original question does anyone know what engine parts from my gt would work for a 800rwhp 281 setup? any? Like I said I'll be buying a long block, but I don't know what else I might be able to save on.

I think dan was just thinking about the engine in general. Not the block; 03,04 cobras engines are much better internals and what not (clearly). But as far as the block itself the teksid block is the strongest.

Just my opinion, but if you spend 20K and end up running only 800 RWHP you arn't thinking things thru.

If I was gonna go ALL out, I would definatly go with a 4v setup. Or maybe a 408 stroker swap

My personal opinion is to do a single turbo setup... less parts, and if you know what you are doing, you can make your own kit. Everyone acts like welding is hard to do and are all scared to build their own setup. Want some help? Check out www.boostang.com... Anyway, turbo cars are easy... As long as you get a turbo with the correct compressor map (t70, t72, or t76), 42 lb. injectors, air/water ic, new cams, a lil head work, EGT's on each bank, then a wideband on the downpipe of the turbo, and a custom tune... you can easily make 500 horse on a stock motor, SAFELY. If I remember correctly, 11 psi is a safe number on a stock engine. So go 8 or 10...
