3.55s are useless its what the 03/04 cobras came with. Almost ever 03/04 cobra has swapped em out because its just not enough power. 3.27 - 3.55 jump you will hardly notice any gain what so ever.
His car is a 96 so he has 2.73s..... But still, go for 4.10s
stupid sn95s

ahhh you guys are making this hard on me! what if i do it.. to see if i like it... if not ill take em off.. and sell them and get 373's... and i thought new gears cost like 450 dollars... maybe i was looking sumwhere wroonnggg
Okay. Lemme help you. You don't want 3.73's you WANT 4.10's and for 450 bucks you can get the gears, new bearing kit, oil, and possibly installation (450-600). 3.55's will make almost no diff in your car. Tell your buddy to sell them to someone who is dumber than you because you know your GT is begging for more gear in the form of 4.10's

you people really like 4.10s on this forum, i mean i know im in the minority with 3.73s but all my friends around hear who have 4.10s say its a pain in the *** because your constantly shifting during normal driving conditions i mean, if i had an automatic id get 4.30s but for my 5speed id just stay with 3.73s

I have had 3 different stangs and swapped to 3.73's or 4.10's in each and by far I like the 4.10's better. Your also forgetting that you probably need to get a bearing kit to go with the gears for the swap due to age. And used gears isnt a good idea. Unless they are shimmed and set EXACTLY like they came out of the other car, they they will NOT be on the same wear pattern.. Can you say sing like a banshee?

Or he could have optional 3.27's... My 96 did.

no way im not gunna go 4.10's ....i hear they drive like ****...besides im not a drag racer, this car is my daily driver in the summer.. i wouldnt be able to afford gas. if i did go higher than 3.55 id go 3.73... and he actually took them out of his truck (he has a 90 sumthin f150 and he checked the specs and they sed it would fit my car

Depending on what gears you have right now, the 4.10's arent going to hurt your gas much more then the 3.73s would.. not a whole lot of mabey 1mpg difference between them.

And of course they will fit.... ford 8.8's have been the same for a loooooong time. If you put them in, since they have an established wear pattern from the point they were shimmed in the truck.. if you cant match it perfect, which I highly doubt anyone could unless you just swapped the entire carrier, you will be very very sorry you got them. They will sing and sing and sing and sing.. and all you can do is just turn up the radio and try to ignore them
Used gears are not a good idea for that reason.

Thought some sn95s had 3.27s guess i need to stop thinking people who are on the forums for a month are correct...
