Mine's a FRPP gear and the thing that gets me is that I've never drivin it hard (well, maybe got on it just a few times, but nothing too hard) and it just started after letting it sit for 2 weeks. I've gotta call that shop and see when I can get it in because it's annoying as hell...

They SHOULD re shim it for free if they believe the cause of the whine is because of their poor work..

The shop I got it done has a 6 month, 6 thousand mile unconditional warranty. I've only got 3 months and 1 thousand miles on it. I've already made an appointment for Friday. I also noticed that when I slow down there is a clicking sound coming from the rear. I'm going to take the guy for a ride in it and then have them work on it so they know what's goin on.

Clicking sound is definitely a problem.

My motives have been in my car for over a year now and they don't make a peep!

Motives do have a tendancy to whine, HOWEVER,

I have been hearing reports that FRPP's are whining a bit more nowadays because Ford changed the cut on the ring gear in order to get it to better fit the 05's. Supposidly this is causing more gear whine in the pre-05 vehicles, but this right now is speculation (as far as the whine goes). I do know that Ford DEFINATELY changed their cut style with their new ring gears.

No but I was looking into one for the near future. Do you think that would help the click? We'll see what happens Friday.
