Mac Headers destroy another cobra motor
Bought Mac header to do some upgrades when all it has done is set my behind. I installed them one night and hooked everything back up, with the anxiety about to kill me to see what kind of performance it had given me, i slid inside and cranked the engine and got out to listen for leaks, when i started to see more and more smoke coming out of my tail pipes. thinking it was just were some stuff had gotten on the pipes, the black smoke started coming out more and more. I knew something wasn't right so i turned off the engine and check once again to see if everything was hooked up right. after doing the inspection, i started it again and the black smoke just rolled out even worse. I took it to Mechanic and Pro Drag racer Robert Hyndon to learn that slag from the inside of the flange had broke off and got sucked back sucked back up inside of my engine and shot into the cylinder, and gouged the wall and cracked the piston.

Is MAC taking responsability for this? or are you guys Fuc*#d, I'd hate to have to pay for rebuilding my motor if it could be proven that there part caused it, I deffinantly won't be buying MAC headers,

Happened to C/Note/Nosman too.
Stuff like that though, should be something you do anyways as a preventative measure. Not really your fault though, but after having worked on race cars for so many years, you learn little things like this.
That sucks man...

In the near future, when I pull the motor to do my pi head swap I am putting a set of mac LT's on my 4.6, just out of curiosity, what causes this and how do you avoid it?
