your problem is that it's a t-45.

and thus is a hunk of ****.

read your manual about clutch adjustment......the 2000 has an automatically adjusting clutch.....it tells you how to do it in the manual if you have the same thing.

I had this same problem and it drove me fricking nuts! my guess is to try setting the clutch to catch a little bit higher. It probably isn't disengaging. synchro's are definately an option... I ruined my 3rd-4th synchro's. after that, I broke the clutch quadrant four days ago and again today! Every time that I would be in first gear, I would still be rolling with the clutch "fully disengaged". but yeah, setting where the clutch engages a litter higher might help you out a bit. If it's grinding into those gears, then it's definately a synchro problem.
