I just got a little extra cash and can get the kit through ebay for around 1200 or less. I could definitely spend the money on bills but if it would be a good investment I am thinking about doing the forged kit instead

I didn't know I was getting the extra cash. So the whole "forged internals" question was never planned. But now I am thinking about it. To spend another 500 on exhaust instead of $55 is something I can't afford. If I do that I will not have enough left for the forged upgrade

if your money is that tight don't pull the motor apart, you may end up haveing to spend more money than you have. when you pull it apart like that, you have to replace numerous bolts and gaskets wich can end up costing you a couple hundred dollars in parts, especially if you have to replace anything else that might neeed it. as for the shorty headers, your not going to get anything from them. the 4.6 is an OHC engine, and its best gains will come from LT's. i suggest you forgo the forged internals and save your money. you may need it for something else later, like bills.
