get the cobra. i got a quote and it's gonna cost me $3600 to forge my bottom end, otherwise i'm stuck at nomore than like 425RWHP without fuggin up my engine. not to mention i'd more than likely need a new tranny. you'll have a new car payment if you continue to build the GT

That's tough, the KB is one lump sum and you are done (and faster than stock Cobras) but the Cobra can be made faster real easy, but then you will have a car payment and higher insurance for the next 5-6 years.... that's a lot of money to shell out each month..

The IRS in the Cobra SUCKS....my friends has BAD wheel hop, even at 70 mph

Think of the eventual resale. A stock cobra will always sell for a boat load more then a fully modified GT. If you put $6K into a GT, you will be lucky if you get $2k out of it the day after you install it. And you have to find a buyer. Most of us wouldn't touch a car that has been modified like that. And if we did, we sure wouldn't pay you for it.

Go Cobra, in 10 years, you will still have a Cobra. You can invest $20k into a GT, and it will still be a GT, all be it a fast GT. You can't change the VIN number.

Just my opinion

If you drop 20k into a GT, that will put you a little above the cost of a stock 03-04 cobra correct? With 20k that GT will not only eat stock cobras but probably several modded ones as well. So as mentioned before, should you get the Cobra, you will have car payments everymonth and will still have to spend some green to make it quicker than your GT would have been.

But also like everyone has said, its up to you man, IMO either is a great decision

man ive been in the same situation for a while now, but in reality i never really had the choice. im 19 and insurance would kill me for a cobra, im going to school next year and also moving out. plus, i gotta stop spending every dime i make, its rediculous. my suggestion is to hold off on the blower, and wait for a cobra. if you cant do the work yourself on the blower, then you will be wasting some serious $$$, and yeah 7 grand sounds right for a kb installed. gotta consider that too much over 400whp is gonna start toasting things.

KB da GT!!! No more car payments!! Every month you can use the money that was used for your car payments to save up for more toys for your supercharged GT. Instead of scrounging making payments on a Cobra and trying to mod it at the same time.

is it really that hard to install a kb on the gt? plus id have to buy a bigger fuel pump.. and other accesories. the kb would eventually run me over like 8000 right?

i think it isnt even worth it..

ORIGINAL: dvs_03gt

if im goin to supercharge my gt, its an 03 modded, paid off. well anyhow im goin w. (8-10lbs) either [procharger, kennebell, whipple or a paxton] its goin to cost roughly 5000-7000$ for s/c + install. right?

or should i just put down the money and buy this cobra? 03-04. so its like wtf.
or can i get a s/c cheaper.. i need to choose something time is awasting.

two big steps, which should i choose?
With the tune, but no install, I paid 3905 for a vortech. I know everyone has a vortech, but there must be a reason for it.

Do what I did trade it in for a 99 or 01 cobra and supercharger it. Or better yet TWIN TURBO
Local ford dealer had a 99 cobra and 03 side by side 99 convertible $16,000 the 03 coupe
was $28,000 I can buy a ton of mods for 12 grand 99 had 33,000 miles. To bad my wife
wont let me put a second morgage on the house for the turbo's LOL! so I just keep saving
