Stock Horsepower on 4.6 S

whats up with the "rwhp" talk all cars are done in "hp" no this car has 234 "rwhp" a stock gt is 260 hp u just confuse people with all the other talk

the only person confused here is you.....RWHP= Rear wheel HP vs the other type of HP (at the flywheel), two totally different things dude..

A few sites have documented that they believe the 99+ 4.6 SOHC motor is actually 270-275hp.

Which, isn't suprising. As they have underrated the crank HP numbers after the 99 Cobra incident.

A 5 speed 99 GT with a capable driver is enough to stay close to a 99 Cobra.<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

A strong motor will but 230 to the ground. My car with 4000 miles on it put down 224 to the ground. With the only 15% drive loss, which is very rare usullay about 18%, it is just under 260 at 258HP, if I take 18% which is more reasonable i am looking almost 265. Given time to break in the motor will make more power and the flywheel HP will go up a bit.

I would buy the 270hp with a strong motor, probably 260 is the average number.

I can pull two gears in my car no sweat. 10hp is not going to help you pull two gears.

And yes it will smoke your import. And yes I have kept up with a 99cobra, lost by a foot<IMG src=smileys/smiley6.gif border="0">.
