Default rpm question

In between shifts my rpm's tend to hover for a moment before they drop, even with the heater and air off.
Not really a problem but it annoys the hell out of me. Anyone have the same concern? If so is there a way to get rid of it?

my rpm's tend to "hang" in-between shifts too. I read somewhere about using a thin piece of sheet metel with a small hole in it in between the IAC and the plenum to sort of restrict some of the air going in, but hey i can live with it

Me too. I notice it when I take the car out of gear and come to a stop. A couple seconds after I stop, the idle drops.
