Default So, lets talk about the Mustang GTS 248A option.

While poking around in the 5.0 section of the forum, I found people talking about the Mustang GTS, which is a stripped down GT, made in 95. It was designed to be like the LX from the fox generation.

It deletes the fog lamps, rear spoiler, ABS, Cruise control and potentially the power seat. It also has the base 16" wheels, the stock 80w sound, the V6 sport style seats. I inquired about it for 96 and Ford renamed the package to 248A.

I have one of these cars, confirmed by the GT2 body code, a manual drivers seat, V6 style seats, no fog lamps, no ABS, AM/FM Cassette, 16" rims, no cruise, and no spoiler. Mine comes with Package 1, which is power windows, locks, and trunk lid release. My VIN is also an X code, which identifies the 4.6L and not a V6 with the 4.6L swap.

There were 5479 made in 1996, which is fewer than even the Cobra, so it's pretty damn rare. Do I have everything correct here? Is there any other information that I might be missing? And most importantly, does anyone else on here own one of these cars?

Here are a few pictures, I will get better ones, especially of the interior and lack of options tomorrow.

Here are the pictures as promised. I personally like the streamlined look and the only bothersome thing is the lack of cruise control.

The lack of spoiler, the 3rd brake light in the deck lid and the lack of fog lamps:

The V6 style seats that are both manual:

The lack of cruise, fog lamp switch, and CD player:

The lack of lighted Visor mirrors:

That thing has some wear and tear. If you spent a day and detailed that thing, it'd look much better.

Why do you want to know if everything is correct?

I detailed it a few weeks back and I will detail it again in another 2 weeks. Yes, there is some wear, but I only gave $1500 for it.

I am an information *****, that's why I created this thread. I like to gather all the info possible about a car to store in my noggin. I knew everything about the GT when I bought this one, so I assumed that it had 6 cylinder parts. I also figured that other info ****** might be interested.

That things needs some serious care. Claybar, polish, wax, full interior clean and detail.

Like I said, I did all that 3 weeks ago, but I live out in the country, so it gets dirty and bug gutted, plus that camera picks up **** that you flat can't see if looking at it.

I went over it with a clay bar, and then waxed it really good. I took all the seats out, used carpet cleaner and Meguires interior detailer on it, etc, etc.

That car is NEGLECTED. Someone make that owner to start driving GM cause he fails at Ford.

Ain't my fault, in fact, I am trying to get it back into shape. The car has improved 100% since I first got it.

If you already detailed it 3 weeks ago, How the hell does all that dirt and grease get in the coin holders and center counsel? That dirt looks like its been their longer then 3 weeks.

Been chipping away at that for 3 months. When I got it, those coin holders were completely filled in with solid Coke a Cola. Plus that camera REALLY picks up dirt, I had to get in it with a drop light to find it, but rest assured that it's clean now.
