sick of 2v....

RE: sick of 2v....
If you wanted a 900 rwhp car then why did you buy a mustang gt? They are marketed and slotted right where ford wanted them. This place is full of people making 250 rwhp complaining about how they're not going to be able to handle 500 hp on a stock motor. If you have the money to make 500+ rwhp then you probably have the money to get forged internals. Untill then dont worry about it. If the GT was fully forged and 4v then it would be really expensive and we all wouldnt have them. Look at the mach one. . . .

You have a throttle body and a catback. You're probably making maybe 10 more HP than stock, so why are you worried about internals now?

i would be worried cuz i'd drop like $5k for a s/c or turbo, then want more boost and high hp, so there for i will need F/I.....

RE: sick of 2v....
If you drop $5k for a turbo or SC, you would already have FI.
If you put an aftermarket FI system on any stock engine, you'll be limited to 6-8 psi anyway. Build a blower engine on the side, that way you'll have something that can handle the FI and will be built to take it.

RE: sick of 2v....
fi is forced induction... forged internals doesnt really have an abreviation... lol.
you will be happy with a blower for a long time....
hell... you will have to upgrade a blower if you want much more than 600rwhp... and forged internals you can do that much more too.... and then you need the drivetrain.. not just the internals. there is alot into building a car to make it reliable with high power

@ the thread maker. Have you ever driven in a 350+HP vehicle before? They are fun to drive but in terms of practicality it is definitely a no.

99-01 Cobras have the same bottom end limit as a 99-04 GT

Why don't you just build this car? Have you ever been in a 400rwhp car? 450? Probably not, even though you're going to come up with some story about your dad having a 1000rwhp car.
400whp is alot of power, good enough to get you in the 11's.

RE: sick of 2v....
350 rwhp is probably the most I'd go with again. I owned a 5.0 with "some" work done to it and it was pushing close to that and it was a fun car. The gas mileage took a real beating, though. If I had the money I'd get a '96-'98 Cobra and run full bolt ons and a 75 shot just to be safe.
