Default auto gt's please help

Ever since I got my gt when most people find out it is an auto they act like it is a pos. I would have got a stick but I got a good deal on my car. I know we lose horsepower to the wheels but come on it isnt that much slower then a stick. I just think some people like to talk bad about auto mustangs. BTW what are some of you guy's stock (auto) 1/4 mile times. I guess I shouldnt let other people get to me because I do really like my car.

i have an auto, but i havent taken it to the track. i dont really like stock autos, but i would rather have a built automatic with a high stall and shiftkit than a manual. built autos are faster than mauals and you can never miss a gear. from what i have seen with people posting their times, autos arent that much slower, if at all.

I know by experience that autos gt's are slower than 5-speeds (with compitant drivers ofcoarse). But the main loss of et in an auto is the inability to launch hard. Just get some 4.10's and you'll make up for any loss of et over a 5-speed.

+1. If you could stall a little higher in an auto, it will run just as fast as a 5 speed. Get a 3000-3200 stall, M/T ET streets, and some 4.10's.

I get the exact same thing with my auto. There really isn't that much of a difference than with the 5 speeds. Most people aren't the best drivers anyways. I have still outrun many people, from stops and rolls. I have beat many 5 speed cars from a roll, even when they get the jump by a car length while mine shifts down a gear. Once they shift, my car goes right back by. When a 5 speed car is in the middle of a shift, it goes nowhere, but if you noticed with our autos, they jump forward during the shift.

I get crap all the time, both for owning a Mustang and second an auto. I can't shift as fast or as consistentas a computer so I don't care. No times, but I think built auto > stick anyday. (except autocross I'll give them that)
