Ever wonder what happens when you get water in the engine, it hydrolocks, but there is still enough momenum in the rotating assembly to give a couple of more good pushes....

And you can't see it all that well on pics, but both intake valves are bent for #7 and #8 pistons.

car hit standing water at night in a city with no drainage, it was night and you couldn't even see the water.
