wanting high hp...tranny?

Well I am saving up for a KB kit for my car and the numbers are suppose to be 440 hp with 6psi, i have an upgraded driveshaft and flywheel...but what do you think about my transmission and that much hp? and if i need a new one which one should i get and will it bolt right in or what? also what kind of price am i looking at...thanks

if your tranny is in good shape and you don't feel like dropping the extra coin, stick with it. My T-45 has held upreally good to some good hp/tq numbers.

I'd be more worried about your engine. Do you have the stock pistons, rods, and crank, or have you upgraded?

Its all about how you treat it. Hard launches and hard shifting will eventually destroy the transmission... taking it easy will make it last alot longer.

I've always been told the launches don't affect it (since it's already in gear), it's the shifting you have to worry about. I don't know if it's true, but I have man, many hard launches (6k rpm dumps on slicks) but shift it easy and never had issues.
