I was told that it might be the flywheel.When we installed the motor we totally forgot to torque it down but we tightened down pretty tight but anyway when I start the car it taps a few times then goes away. Some times when I start it, it stalls the first time but will start the second time. Then the noise goes away when running but comes back at like 3000rpms and goes back away. Does this sound like a cracked or broken flywheel or something else? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

is it very very loud, like the valvetrain starved of oil? I know the new ford 5.4 modulars knock like a b!tch after the oil change. Probably not your case, its a shot in the dark....

not really it isnt that loud..I have a slight exhaust leak so if you know what your listening for you can hear it

I have never torqued down a flywheel in my life! I tighten them down as much as I possibly can. The noise doesn't sound like your flywheel at all. Sounds more like a vacuum problem
