RE: subs in rear seat delete.
yea its easy if you want them in a sealed small enclosure, buta challenge if you need somecubic footage.i had mine in a small sealed box for a while and now that i built the ported box they hit 10x harder. ported boxes tuned to ~35 FTW.
i just built mine out of 3/4" medium density fiberboard. i over-engineer things, so i framed it w/ 2x4's and sealed with construction adhesive and used 4" PVC for the ports. i just painted my box black and it looks nice, but if i were to do it again i would cover it with something.
no its not really that much of a heat issue,. my amps dont seem to put out that much heat anyways. i just like the idea of the air moving out of the ports to cool things off a little bit.

and yes a ported box would be better...but i dont bass out er n e thing i just like to have some bass with my music. This setup is PERFECT if you just wanna cruise n jam out.
EDIT: but i will say this. if i listen to a rap song with it turned up.. you feel like your getting punched in the chest by mike tyson. no lie, so it hits pretty damn hard

my subs still hit the highs decently, but at around 32-35 Hz your ears would probably bleed if you were dumb enough to sit there for a while.
hoss, i really think you have the best looking sub box you will ever see in a mustang.its cool and it looks nice, but (IMO) i like harder bass and a nonfunctional trunk that doesnt look as nice than having a nice sealed box that isnt as loud. i just dont show off my trunk... lol.

RE: subs in rear seat delete.
i made my own box that had a slant with where the rear seats were, and when i pulled em down it exposed two 12" subs, worked pretty slick, but i got sick of the bass and would rather ;listen to my exhaust but two twelvs tucked neatly to where the backs of the back seats are should leave you enough room for luggage
