The air bags do WORK (as in BOOM) at 8.0V, but you can pass lower voltages through the squibs to test them--very low, current limited, voltages to make sure they don't go BOOM...You can use a good DVM to measure the squib's resistance, however I was willing to take the factory manual's specs rather than check it myself...
See that is were you are missing the fun. Blow that dang thing up now that you have it out of your car!!! take a vid too!

The whole swap looks very clean and actually doesn't look that bad.

Something in a darker colour would match the stock interior better though.

I have always liked this one (link)but lack the skill you have to be bypassing the airbag for the computer.

It looks very clean.. You did a good job !!

I personally don't like the wood wheel though. I did the same swap only I went with the momo trek-r. Here are the picks of mine... I don't have cruise controls any more as I never used them anyway.. and I relocated the horn (black button below the light **** on the left). I also added a quick release hub as you can see in the pic with the wheel off.

After driving it for a couple days it'ssort ofstarting to "grow" on me (of course you know what the three stooges said, "so do warts")--I've actually had twocomplete strangers approach me in parking lots and tell me they liked it!!!Nonetheless I'm pretty sure I'm going to get something more befitting a contemporary muscle car...Shadowfoxx, how do you like the "D" shaped wheel, what diameter is it?I've got a 320 mm (12.5") fake FRPP wheel but it's too small.BTW--and speaking of ugly--I find most all air bag steering wheels to be the ugliest things I could imagine sitting behind except maybe a fat woman's with gas backend...

i think the stock wheel looks better than that obscenity that looks like it belongs in a 1970 jaguar with that fat lady's cellulite legs rubbing the bottom of the steering wheel while sitting on tea. haha jk

seriously a ****ing rooster??? lol

its NOT THAT bad.. i mean its different but ive seen alot worse. I think a darker grain would have matched better, but youre right the stock airbag wheel looks like a wart. did they offer different colors of that grain or was it just that light oak like color?

The wheel is left over from my Miata days, that's a Team VooDoo logo on the horn button--BTW I have no horn or cruise control functions at this time, got several schemes in mind but I thought I'd let 'em stew for a while and see what looks like the best solution. I think I may seek out a more contemporary looking wheel, as I'm not sure the mahogany looks right in a Mustang... [emphasis added]
I had it in the attic--I didn't deliberately buy it for the Mustang!!!

but you deliberately put it in your mustang.. so why would it matter where you got it from?

Shadowfoxx, how do you like the "D" shaped wheel, what diameter is it. I've got a 320 mm (12.5") fake FRPP wheel but it's too small
It's a 350mm (13.8"). The "D" shape wheel is good... to each his own I guess but I kinda like it... I wish it was a bit thicker but other then that I like the wheel.
