Yes, that much MORE money.

Or is the MORE... for more conversation?

Either way, you need more of both.

Coil over springs if you're an all around guy. That way you can adjust them to your specific needs. Adjustable shocks too and hell why not adjustable control arms.

Set up by far, a little story for you. Back when my roommate got his 98 WS6 he raced a bolt-on fox body. All the fox had was LT back exhaust and an intake I believe. But it was setup to handle way more power then it had. Real nice suspension setup and some real sticky rubber(cant remember what brand). Anyways they lined them up and that fox body destroyed my buddies TA by about 5 cars up to 110. The trans am spun off the launch while the fox body just took off running and although the WS6 started to catchup in late second and third gears it just wasnt enough.

So I definitly say set up is far more important than horsepower, but both are definitly nice to have

Setup is more important but I wouldn't go for the things you mentioned until you need them. Like axles and clutch, and an electric water pump. If your stock ones are working fine, then there really isn't any reason to switch them. I would make sure you have the usual UCA/LCA, struts/shocks, springs, SFC, gears, tires. Those are the kind of things that are important for your HP level. After all of that kinda of stuff I would worry about stage 1 cams and things like that.

I really dont understand why a bunch of you guys dump big $ into heads and cams etc when you can just get a supercharger and make much more HP... heads and cams with full exhaust will get you no more than 300+ a few rwhp from what i have seen.. thats still getting ur butt handed to you by bolt on Ls1's stock termys etc etc

build suspension and set up before power mods, power idea can always be change but re-doing suspension is re-learning how to drive your car.
if you do it right and get correct adjustable parts you can tune your car for street/drag/open course.
granted you cant bea pro at all of them, youll be able to do decently in all of them.

Setup

I am N/A with a built low compression motor, longtubes, catback and tune. But I can beat nitrous cars from a dig and only got beat by a fender by an 03 cobra because of my suspension set up. I can hook and jump out 3 cars on a cobra and he has to fight the whole time to catch me. I would say get your car set up right then work on power.
