Which is more important? HP or setup?
I made a reply to a post earlier and it got me thinking...
My plans this winter are around 330rwhp with the addition of heads/cams/LT's/electric wp and a tune on top of my other mods. Then I started thinking about my setup... Stock clutch, oversized Sumi tires, prokit, stock rear end and k-member.
Should I spend the money this winter on HP mods -OR- get a new K-member/A arms, 31 spline, staged clutch and maybe just do the little mods like stage1 cams and electric wp?
I wish I could do it all but I can't rob peter to pay paul this winter.
ps- S/C would be nice but No, not for me; not with this car.

well suspenion and bolt ons can take you a long way... but in your case i think youll enjoy HCI more than anything else, I would do that.. then a gear, then tires... then axles, then arms.. etc

set-up is way more important. you could have all the horsepower in the world and if your car is not set-up to use that power efficently your just spinning your wheels (literally). body and frame flex, rear end movement, clutch slippage,. I read in mm&ff awhile back they said they picked up 70 mph in the quarter just with suspension mods. our suspensions suck bad start there

You can't have one without the other and expect to be very fast at all.
Personally, I'd rather have 400 rwhp and run mid to upper 12's than have 225 hp and run bottom 13's.
Sure, I woudlnt be very efficiant with the power I'm making, but every little adjustment to the suspension would net bigger gains than having a car that hooked, then still having to pay that much money to make more power.
