A set of VT stage II cams with the required accessorieswill put you close to that. You'd have to install them yourself though, the 1000 wont coverparts plusinstall and tune...

full exhaist might get u 15hp, but thats with longtubes and long tubes alone are probly gona run u close to $1000 installed then u have to get a mid pipe. get gears and a tune. the gears wont give u hp but it will feel like it! haha and u will pick up a few out of a tune.

well I found some info on gears, sounds like a very appealing mod to look into. seems that people like to bitch about gears too. 4.10 gears.....only con I saw on the board was someone saying it will wear your engine down faster? Is this claim just based on the fact that compared to the stock gears at any given speed you will be spinning the motor at a higher rpm? Surely it can't be that higher of an rpm. or is the wear on the motor claim based on something else?

The biggest power i got was the lt headers and the mid pipe.I wouldnt worry about a catback right now.The catback wont really gain u any horsepower just sound.LT headers, mid pipe and a set of gears wiil be your best bang for the buck and that will keep u close to a $1000 if u and some freinds can do the headers yourself. With those 3 mods your carwill be a diff. animal

ok there is SOME truth to the gears wearing your engine. the "pros and cons" whatever u want to call it are your car redlines alot faster. your wheels turn more times per turn of te axle. you losesome top end speed and while on the highway you will be at higher RPM than stock gears so you waste a little more gas.
now cruising at slightly higher RPM you can already tell where that thing about the engine wear comes at. its not as big of a deal as some people make it out to be though its not going to kill your motor a month after the gears.
and yeah people like to bitch about gears. some people arent satisfied with gears unless they as steep as they can go. im getting 390's put in mine actually (im ordering the bearings and gears this weekend and i got a guy here to install em for 250). the best for a moreconservative gearing is 373's for a stick, 410's with an auto. you can go higher if you want but its all up to you and what your car has to do (is it your DD and you put alot of miles on it per day, if so you may not want to go any taller than above but i definately wouldnt go below otherwise its a waste of money)
