I've heard average good things but VT, Fox lake, or Discusting Livernois are better.

a lot of people say port and polish but to be honest it's a CNC port job, I don't think anything is polished, they have bigger valves, stronger springs, etc than stock.

No company casts a head for the 4.6. The heads you buy from Patriot are factory ford heads that are ported with better springs and stainless steel valves. Smaller companies like VT and many others call for a core (your old heads). They either wait until they get your heads in and work them or send you a set of heads someone else sent in that have been worked and sell yours to someone else after they are worked. Every head you look at for the 4.6 is a worked factory ford head.

then why would you not just go to patriot?

Anyway so many of these packages are BS, just go to a local motor man and git it all... cnc and port match and polish, and over size valves etc... its cheaper
