Default Long Tubes or Stage 2 cams

My grandma just gave me her gargage. So now i need a project to do over the winter. I really want to do a set of vt stage 2 cams. I also wants a pair of long tubes.. I hear LOngtubes are a pain to intall. I would rather the cams, but came to see what u guys think.. Which install is easier to do?... how long do each take approximetly? Also which will i see more power out of?

well no question about it the cams would give u more power but they also cost more. i thinkthe cams would b a little harder install, the longtubes will just take time. it would b great if u could get both cause the cams would love the longutbes.

stage 2 cams would net more hp...but you need dif valve springs..and install, unless you know how to degree a cam and are handy with toold, i wouldnt try it.. longtubes are not hard to install, they just take forever. cams will cost more and you will most likely be paying for install. so i say headers

I would go with cams. If you understand that you'll be changing your valve springs too and you don't mind. I was going to do stage 2/3 heads with stage 2 cams this winter but i decided to have my heads ported (350bucks) and do cams and LT's. It should net about 35-45 hp depending on who you believe.

Since you're concerned with the difficulty of install, I would recommend neither. These are not installs for average do-it-your-selfer[8D]

I would do the headers first.Becuase the power curve with just cams would probably suck and the headers will give u a nice bump in power

iam not the average do it yourselfer.. Iam well capable of doing both.. its what i feel like doing first ( feel like getting out of the way first ) .. and i just wanted your guys oppion on what i should get first tto do over winter break.

I love the way cams sound. But long tubes will also sound rele good. If i get long tubes, ill also have to change the midpipe as well.

if you are staying n/a just do which ever one you have the money for first and do the other next. either way you should do both.
