black ice....****
i was getting on the freeway today and right at the bottom of the ramp my car just jerked sideways, i tried to fight for control but at that speed i couldnt do it.... slid backwards across 3 lanes and hit the metal ropes that we have on the freeways here *they are stronger than a guard rail, even though they dont look it*....guess ill be getting my decklid fixed....one of the ropes pulled my fender in under my brake light, broke the brake light out, chewed into my bumper and my decklid....i know its not nearly as bad as most of the crash threads here, but it still sucks
i just got my baby running again a week ago after head gaskets and timing chain tensioners....ill put up a pic or two later when its light out...4 am icy roads ftmfl....they looked so dry....guess its time to park the stang until spring....should i burn out my gas and park on a near empty tank, or fill up and throw in sta-bil?

i did that last week, some how i regained contorl but it was sideways the whole way i would turn left it woudl go sideway then turn right go sideways again came an inch from hittin the curb and metal poles i was so lucky
I had to get flatbedded out of a hilly ditch on the highway on Sat night. I got towed out twice before that, idk WHY the tow guy thought I was going anywhere.
I felt myself sliding about 50 feet from where I got stuck. I still have no idea how I avoided 3 cars, a guardrail, and 2 highway markers.
I took $160 out of my bank account the next morning, and am awaiting my insurance cards. The day they come, the mustang switches spots with the beater in the garage.
Beaters are worth it. Got mine for $450. If you have a sixxer, with only one wheel o' power and 150 rwhp, the snow and ice can't really topple you too much with TC. But with over 200 rwhp and both wheels spinning...I've learned this the hard way.

South Louisiana here......Not to worried about ice. Hate to hear that, but you would think that if you lived in a COLD enviroment, you would be more cautious to the fact of ice. Crap happens, I know this (bald tires on my Lightning and 1/2 throttle on wet interstate = rear end kick out) but try to be more careful on the roads. Just might save yourself some money or your life in the long run.
