Default BBK longtube headers question

I just ordered some BBK longtube headers with x pipe and I was calling performance shops around Phoenix and when I called AMP performance they told me that BBK doesnt make longtube headers for a 2000 mustang GT automatic. I really dont see why it would matter if its an automatic or not can someone explain this? Is it true? Im going to call BBK right now and find out. Thanks.

bbk longtubes might not fit autos because of tranny location and other differences between autos and manuals. best bet is call bbk

i would assume it would fit. in my 00 my BBK's didnt come anywhere near my tranny, so manual or auto, its probably just that they didnt reference the auto in their database when marketing it. summit has these problems sometimes too, they dont add in all the possible combinations of years and options of vehicles and your search doesnt come up. I cant imagine it would matter. Its been awhile, but I think that my collecters came out on either side of the oil pan with several inches of clearance. This would be below the flywheel, and therefore below the tranny. the xpipe is the only thing that may interfere with the tranny, and a muffler shop can bend that into place. had to do it with my ypipe on this thing.

its been said around the forums, but i think its mainely due to clearances. im not sure how the auto pan sits between the exhaust cause i dont have one but i think they were talking about when swapping out or pulling the transmission that the Mac headers have the best clearance. don't quote me on that im about 75% sure.

ok. Well i just got off the phone with another mechanic and he said that it can be done. He has to look at the headers first then he would be able to tell hoe to put them on. Then I asked him if he was sure he can get them on without rubbing anything or stuff like that and he said yeah. So im going to head down to his shop in about an hour to see if he knows what he is doing. Does anyone have an automatic with LT headers on them???
