Driving "supercars" in normal everyday life can be a very frustrating experience because you have to be driving it "like you just stole it" to get them into their high-performance operating ranges. This can be fun at first but it wears thin after awhile, and can often attract unwanted attention if you get my drift...

I've beaten cars top end on the I80 more times than I can count. With my stock 215 NPI I burried deep past 150 and left Roushes, beamers and Porches in my wake. My Dyno speed alone in 4th gear was 160+mph. The problem is I am rarely ever racing top end super cars.

If I where to build an ultimate motor for super car status. It would have to a low compression, 30lbs of boost, small displacement with a short stroke. When I get my SC i'll be waiting on the gears to see how she drives at around 380-3900hp with my stock gears.

You've had your NPI up to 150 on the street and 160 on a dyno? The most mine got up to 140 on the street and I was buried in 4th. Were your stock gears 2.73's or what?
Yup, stock 2:73... I actually b!tch a lot about lack of low end grunt but I get 27.6mpg at 260rwhp and alright power curve.

I love doing 35 roll races (1st gear). I can toast a 5.7 GTO and do it repititiously. I'm at peak power and shift almost imediately, they always catch up at the end but I make them work for it...

Most new "supercars" are pretty fast regardless if its the 1/4 or at top speed. Higher gears are compensated by the x-mission and the fact that they are much lighter. Top speed also has a lot to do with aerodynamics, which in most cases they a far superior.

Hell, my 20 year old Corvette with 2:59`s will approach 150mph (don`t ask me how I know) on a straight away, but who cares?. How often are you going to go that fast?. The only good thing is, in the Vette it don`t feel squirrely like I think it would in my stock `stang. Even after all these years the Vette is rock steady at high speeds. I guess it all depends on what you are after

It's the same 4l60e that F-bodies have. Same 6spd too.

wat do you need suspension wise to be stable at high speeds.. i know that even in my vert... at like 110-115 it feels VERY light..and it scares me.. i havnt pushed it past 115. call me a *****, but the roads in texas are not speed friendly lol(in the greater san antonio area)

Are you 100% sure that you are not severely overexagerating? My buddy has a low 11 second 01 SS Camaro. It has 3: 89s full exhaust and a 150 shot and we struggle to get to 150......

Im not calling you a liar or anything but i find it very hard to beleive that you can do those speeds with such ease... Even when he was stock gearing he had trouble at those speeds.
