Good and cheap does not mix. If you want cheap go with the sumitomo tractionless wonders, as for good look for michellin ps2's.

Nitto 555r's and goodyear f1's are in between.

I like my Sumi's for everyday driving. Handle well in the rain and no road noise. Bad at the track from what the High HP people tell me. For me they still hook pretty well but I'm only at 260hp.

these are the sumis people are talking about http://www.americanmuscle.com/sumito...315-35-17.html
I have them and like them, good all around tire, but if you do alot of launching look elsewhere.

FWIW, I hate my Sumitomos with the power of a thousand suns, and I only have 230'ish hp (AND AN AUTO!!) They have good tread, but no matter the road condition or temperature I have to baby it all the way through first gear. I'd already have them swapped out if 18's weren't so damned expensive. [:'(]

Ok so sumi's are out, I want some street tires that i can launch at around 2000 rpm with very little wheel spin, and be able to floor it in 1st and not fishtale (I know thats pretty optimistic for cheap street tires)

I've had smaller 245's and 275 BFG's and Kumos and both had horrible road wine... It drove me nuts. When I ordered my first set of Ebay wheels that came with the Sumi's I was amazed at the lack of noise. That put them at the the top in my book. Except for traction of course.
