Default Lowered mustangs please reply

Hey guys, I was thinking about getting springs and cc plates for the car but when I see all these posts with pics of lowered cars they don't seem much lower than what mine looks. I was wondering if someone with a lowered or stock car with 17" rims could give me the measurements they have from fender to floor in the front and the back so I can see if my car possibly has been lowered before by the previous owner. Or if there is an easier way to tell let me know.

By looking @ the pics you have posted in your gallery Id say the car has stock springs in it. If you go w/ springs I have then you wont need the CC plates. Any lowering springs are gonna HURT your 1/4 mile times but improve cornering performance.

Just because you lower your car, doesn't mean you have to get cc plates. If you're looking to lower your car, just get you a set of Ford Racing C springs and call it a day. If not those, steeda, eibach and mm make quality products.

Check the fender gap above the front tires. Before I lowered mine, I could fit my handvertically between the tire and fender. Now with my c springs, I can get a little more than two fingers in there.

Stock should be around 28 to 29 inches from the ground to the top of a front wheelwell.

If you want an improvement in handling, go with H&Rs or Sportlines. Everything else is just cosmetic. Drop it more than 1.5" and you'll need CC plates...

Thanks for all the info. I was thinkin the H&R sportlines was what I was gonna get. 1.5 inches just doesn't seem enough IMO. How bad does it hurt your E.T.? Is the looks worth taking a little off your 1/4. What if I wanted to lower the carand still keep the 1/4 the same what kind of suspension work would be needed to have that same look?

you could get the 1.5 springs, and then if you want to take it further, you could get some steeda x2 balljoints http://www.steeda.com/products/x2_balljoints.php, according to mustangman, that combo got him to a 1.75 drop. He did a good write up of it too, but I'll need to look for it.

I got 4 cyl Fox springs, cut a half coil, and took out the isolators and got about a 2 inch drop. I kept the stock rear springs, but I might take the isolators out this weekend to drop it a tad. And that setup will actually help 1/4 mile times.

I'll post some pics up once I get the new rims on.
