I'm lucky to have a vert for this...when I get mine, I can stand and grip'n'rip with the top down.

try using a flat head screw driver thats what i did with my old sixxer, by the way good choice with the shifter thats what im going to be using.

I gave up... I put that damn thing back together... ill try again tomorrow. its just that it says on the intructions not to use exsessive force cause it will damage the tranny.... now another question. If i do get it off tomorrow im gonna go ahead & flush the tranny fluid. Do i pourthe new fluid through the open area where the shifter was? thanks guys!!!
