Default 40's or super 40's

I've read flowmasters description of both, and have listened to several youtube videos; and I'm just trying to see if the Super 40's have the same exact sound as the original 40's ? Flowmaster says the only difference is the super 40's perform better. It just seems that the originals have a more aggressive sound.

From what I've gathered...
Originals = more raw, unrefined, angry
Supers = more refined/cleaner

I'd go with the Super 44's if you're looking at the Super 40's. I think they are basically the same thing except the Super 44's supposidly fit better.

I don't know why but I'm having trouble finding the original 40s. I want the originals the most despite if the supers or super 44 are better. I have always considered them the best sound. Anybody know where to find them the original 40s?

the original 40s, I got them from jegs over a year ago, and now can't seem to find them. My buddy wants them and I see several 40s but they're delta force or american thunder versions. I just want the original 40s.

I have the original 40's and I love the way they sound.I get compliments from guys with the supers all of the time telling me they wish they would've got the originals.I dont think they sell a catback system with them anymore but you can get the mufflers alone from summit.

At summit the 2.5" in and out, is flowmaster 40 however it says: Muffler, American Thunder 40 Series, 2 1/2 in. Inlet 2 1/2 in. Outlet, Steel, Aluminized. Are these the originals?
