i didn't mean like stage 2 or 3 patriot, but if you look at kenne bell's website you can get a lot more power out to the 99 - 04 models then the 96 - 98 models. he could just pick up factory PI heads from ford, get the s/c cams and the PI intake from ford (and could even get the intake ported and polished. you don't want an un-godly amount of compression but i would not put a s/c on an NPI engine

10.6:1 compression, a s/c and low octane fuel don't mix! He Better keep the boost down and have one hell of a tuner if he'd want to run that. You'll be doing a rebuild by the end of the year.
Iddings_6 I already told you what I thought.

IMO, i would go with the PI Swap before the s/c but that is just me

I'll explain,
The NPI uses a 11cc dish to work with a51cc combustion chamber, making a static compression ration of 9.3:1. The PI's use a 17cc dish with 42cc combustion champer making 9.7:1. So using PI heads on a NPI short block increases compression to 10.6:1. Which is bad with regular gas, "even premium," when combined with a s/c.
If you don't understand the numbers, then understand my point; Don't do it. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that the average tuner isn't going to be able to tune it safely, and if you're any kind of average driver you're going to push it once in a while and you WILL detonate. And you will blow your motor and bitch about it that no one told you it was going to happen. Here's you warning.
