Looks like a sweet car. He is asking more then BB because of all the extras he has in it. I ran into the same thing when I bought my 96 GT last year. I paid about $1K more due to some add ons he had just put in. You can always negotiate on the true value of the car, but as much TLC as he has put into it he may feel offended if you low ball him. I would offer the BB value for private party and see what that brings. Atleast you know you have that as back up data if he asks how you came up with that price.

Good luck,

JAG

Check Nadaguides too, but honestly he hasnt done enough upgrades to warrent paying too much more. His list includes alot of little things.

Great looking car. Very tasteful. Fairly low miles. It's a coin toss as it seems finding one that's been taken care of at a decent price within a reasonable driving distance is hard to find. However, it looks like he's trying not to go upside down on the car by bumping up the price just because of mods. Mods don't add value, but to some buyers they do. I would email him and ask him if he'll take kbb value and pull it from ebay. I would tell him you're only 10 min away. He might wait to see if anyone bids and if not I would assume he would probably ask $20,000.

I would pay 20,000 for that car just because of the fact that it looks like it's been taken care of. Good luck. Hope it works out!

are cobras cheap in cali? in ohio that car would take 24-26 easy...

and the mods dont seem so small to me...cams are big money on a 4v... pulley/tune/cams/...lot of performance just in that alone...but i agree that mods dont increase value all the time, but i definately think those mods will bump the value of a cobra

Thanks for the replies guys... I just dont know how badly the car has been beaten up & of course the guy wont tell me if he took it to the track every weekend & beat the living SH!!!!!T out of the engine... Like always their is a risk in buying a used car. Very Sexy car with some nice mods, especially the CAMS...

Seems like a decent to me. He doesn't have a ton done but it does have mods. The numbers seem a bit low for a cammed car though.

i doubt he is going to give you it for 19-21...thats the price he put it up for, he probably is expecting it to get to atleast 23-24 by the end of the auction, its not autotrader its ebay....if you find a cobra for 20grand around here, its going to have atleast 100k miles on it or be a salvage car

Well, now that I look around. That is a pretty good buy. I couldn't hardly find an 03 for under $20,000 and if I did it had 70,000 miles or so. Seems like a pretty good buy. I would throw a bid for that. Probably turn around and sell it and make some cash if you can get it for $21,000
