the right suspension setup will help get the power to the ground. You can have all the power in the world but if you can't get it to the ground then you are just spinning your wheels (literally). For those that are truly into drag racing and want to improve their times (not dyno queens)I couldn't stress how much suspension, a built rearend and sticky tires will help. Keep in mind those things I listed are not cheap but they work wonders. For example, I went the route that most people don't go. Most people start off with a bolt on here and a bolt on there and rarely worry about suspension or rearend. I went the opposite route, I did nitrous, built rear, suspension and slicks. OFF the bottle my car made ONLY 228 rwhp, but ran 13.3's (faster than many people with ~100hp more). On a 100 shot I was running 12.0's. I consider myself a decent driver (but far from the best) and never powershifted my car. With that being said I feel my car still had a tenth or two of improvement with a little more agressive driving.
Now, at the present I decided to go all out on the motor and my car was ready for it because I already had the suspension and rear. I took my car to the track once (that's right 1 time and still learning the new setup) clicked off a 12.4 ALL MOTOR (faster than most people with superchargers, including some 03 Cobras). Granted my 60' wasn't as good as it could have been but without the suspension and built rear it wouldn't have been what it was.

Could you elaborate on those effects? Some of us are still learning
How much does it actually help?

when i did my suspension I did notice a good difference, even on the street, buthaving a nitto d/r oreven less sticky tire, your simply not going to take advantage of all the suspension work.I noticed a big difference, but with the power level I am making I simply could not get traction at all.
I guess what I am saying is, don't expect to rebuild the suspension and then go out and yank a front tire, or even dump the clutch hard, on something like a nitto or les sticky tire.
