for being your first time not bad

but... id like to know whats done to that car exactly... i ran .1 slower bone stock.... not giving you ****, just curious as to whats done to your car.... and i think it has alot of potential left in it, that you, as you get some more seat time at the track will see...

again... 1st time out... didnt do bad at all

i remember my 1st runs ever... in my 88... ran like 16.2 or some bull**** lol, got it down to 14.6 that same night... its all about learning the car AND track

The rear end lifting is good? I don't see that. My rear end lifts HARD(like as much as the front) and it takes all the weight off the tires and they spin.

I just got back from watching some 4sec 1/8 mile cars, including TIM LYNCH, and it looked like all of those cars squatted?

oh I'm sure Dimebag will agree, if he had a Mineral Grey instead of Dark Shadow Grey I would have been harsh because he would have been way off the mark. We all know that MG is faster, so for it being his 1st time AND DSG.... not too bad.

you don't want the rear to lift toooo much. But Zach think of it like this, when the tires go farther from the fender (the rearend lifting) what is actually happening is the rear tires are "planting" because they are pushing down. When the car squats the rear tires are pulling closer to the car, releasing pressure from the launch. And yes cars like Tim Lynch will squat, when you have THAT much power it's going to happen, but I bet the have it setup so that it doesn't squat as much as it could.

i think what he's saying is too much rear squat will = the front raising up a bit as well

and that's where you get into it being more for show

i saw a cobra video the other day and both the front and rear rose up a bit...it was weird, but you could tell that car was dead hooking and taking off like mad

exactly. Check out this pic and this thread. IMO this looks like a good launch and he was still questioning if it was squating too much, he obviously doesn't want it to squat.
