Default went to the track for the first time ever

Hey guys, after two and a half years of owning the stang and going from bone stock to 292rwhp, I figured it was time to take her down the track, the cars first time as well as my first time ever. car stuck harder than I thought which actually kinda hurt me because i bogged pretty hard off the line (both times). These are with my 18x9/10 bullitts with Kumho street tires.

RUN ONE:
R/T .246
60' 2.2
1/8 9.35
1/4 14.2
MPH 102.79

RUN TWO:
R/T .300
60' 2.0
1/8 8.8
1/4 13.6
MPH 102.85

Second pass was a little better. I raised the RPMs up about 200-300 at the light and it helped but I still bogged, as well as shifting from 1st to 2nd a little quicker. So Im sure with atleast drag radials and some seat time Ill be able to bring the times down a little. Ive had tubular adjustable upper and lower control arms for over a year now and noticed minimal difference on the street. But at the track is a whole diffrent story. the car squats hard on take off with rubberband street tires and no burnout...just thought id share

haha well thanks, and I got the wheels off ebay. They are from a store called O E Wheels, and I got them for 480 shipped brand new. I havent seen the bullitts recently because a lot of people ask me where I got them, so I periodically check out of curiosity. The main reason I got them was because of the color, they match my paint perfectly...I have a Carbonware 3" cowl hood on order which I think will complete the outside of the car..

you might want to eliminate that. Take the squat out and get some sticky tires.

any car is going to squat a little bit...and it's better to squat with street tires than it is to fry em off.

just because he didnt raise the back and front perfectly even and take off like a bat of hell doesnt mean he failed

first time out + 290 hp + street tires and pulling a 2.0 60' = success in my book

that's why I said to take the squat out AND get some sticky tires. The front should naturally rise higher than the rear, not even with the back due to weight transfer but you don't want the rear to squat. Most people think the rear should squat while drag racing, if that were the case people wouldn't put an air bag in the rear spring, get a "anti-squat" bar, or set the pinion angle to a negative degree... all of which will help not only prevent rear squat but help raise the back of the car pushing it forward instead of wasting evergy squating. Seeing that he already has adjustable control arms, it's an easy fix. I didn't say he failed, just trying to help him lower his ET's. I also didn't say he did bad for his 1st time but his car probably has an easy 12 second ET (based on his hp level).
also a little spin is better than bogging (which he's doing)of the line.
