Default No Cruise Control

Ok I am Stummped.

I have no cruise control But my Horn and Speedo Still work. I have been told that the sensor that Plugs into the side of the trans still might be the culprit and others who have worked at a Ford dealership for over 10yrs says there is no way thats the problem. Agian for those of you who do not know. I am in a wheelchair and cannot do much "Wrenching" If i could i would just go and put the darn thing in and see if it cures the problem. So instead i am comming here to ask and see if it can be diagnosed or maybe someone else has had the same problem with the samethings wrong and found out the problem and fix.

Thanks
Mal

Here are the system overview and detail diagrams for the CC system, hopefully they can help.As for what is broken, two components that are not as robust as they could be are the brake and clutch switches that kill the CC when either pedal is depressed.I agree with your Ford friends, the sensor at the tranny also drives the speedometer; if it were defective the speedometer would not work as well.

Maybe check the CC motor. It is located in the the driver wheel well. You have to pull the plastic splash shield to get to it[:@]
