svt focus fuel pump install
Is there a good write up with pictures. I searched around and found a bunch of old threads that say to use dndgarage.net but that site isnt there anymore...
I'm not sure where you could find it, I'd search a few forums. It's not that hard, just make sure the tank is almost empty before you do it.
+1 not hard at all. Just get it down to around an 1/8th of a tank and go at it. Took me about an hour the first time I did one just taking my time and looking at things, but doesn't take but about 30 minutes to switch a pump now.
make sure you use the stock basket. Just swap the pump and sock filters.
I bought the pump used its still in the old tank.do you think I should swap the pump or just do the whole tank
swapping the tank would be easier, either way you gonna have a left over tank and pump. disconnect the lines and harness, drop the tank and reverse.
the only thing is tanks that sit get sh*t inside them, like rust. if theres any contamination don't use it, not worth it. how long has it been sitting? |
looks like ill probably just swap the tank out
how ,uch is it costing you? I ask because you can get a new focus pump for less than $100
I already bought it. I paid 75 for the tank and pump. I know I could have gotten a new pump for a little more but this way I can swap the whole thing and sell my pump and tank or just swap the pump and sell them off individually.
