Tips for first time at the track
#11
sumis suck. Try to go behind a bad *** big tire car and line up in his rubber. Drive around the water box, do a light peel just to knock the crap off the tires, shallow stage (as soon as the 2nd staged light lights up, stop and do not roll forward), leave on the last yellow, leave close to idle and slightly slip the clutch as if you are trying to beat someone off of a red light on the street and the biggest thing is relax!!!
it's funny that you worked at the track for 5 years and didn't know the difference between a drag radial and a sumi.

I have sumitomos, not drag radials. I figured with the glue on the track and coming out of the hole with the rpm's up a little I'll be able to hook fine. I guess I won't know until I am there, but why is everyone hating on sumitomos? I thought it was a decent tire and I normally hook pretty good.

OP: the original question of you and the cobra will depend on his driving skills. I believe with it being both of your first times you will run sh**** times, its a lot different when you get down there on the track behind the wheel of the car...don't stall out everyone will laugh.
Last time I ran was in my 02 and I ran the rpms to about 3500 and feathered out the clutch.
You also don't have to go into 4th gear, try shifting into it and then try finishing in 3rd and see the difference
